about-2

New Roots. Global Culture.

Through the production of live performance, cultural and educational events, re/route creates opportunities to witness exciting global artists and events rarely presented in the nation’s capital.

Founded in 2010, re/route seeks to bring together audiences across demographic, cultural and artistic boundaries. Says re/route’s Artistic Director,  “All the studies point to arts and culture being a key driver of economic activity and revitalization of our cities heading into the 21st century. There’s a critical mass of activity in DC that includes jazz, dance music, hip-hop, and beats from around the globe. What we’re looking to open up with re/route is space to play and facilitate cultural exchange – to have the same high-level, quality cultural programming and opportunities we might find in the concert hall happen organically in the city’s clubs and neighborhoods.”
